Learn the Fundamentals of Watercolour!

Your opportunity to learn the fundamental skills to enable you to paint beautiful watercolours. Louise will show you how to take control of this medium and produced gorgeous results. Cost includes all art materials needed, including artist quality watercolour paper, watercolour paints, two small frames. We also provide morning tea (BYO lunch) and a glass of wine or bubbles and nibbles afterwards to celebrate your achievements!

This workshop is suitable for beginners and early intermediates. No experience is necessary. Children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).

Historic Settlers Cottage is located at 180 Pearson Street, Churchlands, is owned by the National Trust and currently used as Art Studios. The setting is idyllic, nestled close to the Herdsman Lake, surrounded by trees and wildlife. The venue for our workshops is in the adjacent Shelter area (outdoor undercover with weather protection) and on the shady verandahs of the cottage. The perfect way to enjoy art activities.

What we provide

$130 per person includes:

  • Guided step-by-step instruction and expert tuition from Louise will help you master this medium.

  • Use of all materials provided including drawing materials, artist quality watercolour paper, watercolour paints, brushes, palettes, water containers, rags, apron and two small frames so you can frame your best two paintings!

  • Delicious morning tea. (BYO lunch).

  • Glass of wine or bubbles and nibbles afterwards to celebrate your creation.

  • The masterpieces you create are yours to take home!

What to bring

  • Water bottle.

  • Lunch.

What to wear

  • An apron is provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on.  Although watercolour paints are water based, some pigments can be difficult to remove.

Appropriate for

  • Beginners / early intermediates - no experience is necessary.

  • Adults (children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).
