Learn how to paint stunning coastal landscapes!

Your opportunity to learn the skills to enable you to paint stunning coastal landscapes (acrylics). Louise will show you how to capture the essence of the scene and build the layers to capture the coastal landscape of your choice. Cost includes all art materials needed, including a quality canvas and morning tea (BYO lunch).

This workshop is suitable for all levels. No experience is necessary. Children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).

Historic Settlers Cottage is located at 180 Pearson Street, Churchlands, is owned by the National Trust and currently used as Art Studios. The setting is idyllic, nestled close to the Herdsman Lake, surrounded by trees and wildlife. The venue for our workshops is in the adjacent Shelter area (outdoor undercover with weather protection) and on the shady verandahs of the cottage. This is the perfect way to enjoy art activities.

What we provide

$165 per person includes:

  • Guided step-by-step instruction and expert tuition from Louise will help you master this medium and subject matter.

  • Use of all materials provided including easel, table, chair, reference material, drawing materials, canvas with float frame, paints, brushes, palettes, water containers, rags and apron.

  • Delicious morning tea. (BYO lunch).

  • Glass of wine or bubbles and nibbles afterwards to celebrate your creation.

  • The masterpiece you create is yours to take home!

What to bring

  • Water bottle.

  • Lunch.

  • Bring your own reference photo if you like (or use one that Louise will provide).

What to wear

  • An apron is provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on.  Although acrylic paints are water based, some pigments can be difficult to remove.

Appropriate for

  • All levels - no experience is necessary.

  • Adults (children 12 and over allowed with an accompanying adult).
